During 2016, Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport will add 22 new regular flights, with 24 new destinations, to create a total of 115 direct destinations from the airport.
Of these new flights, many are offered by either regional or low-fare airlines including Aegean, Blue Air, easyJet, HOP!, Iberia Express and transavia.com.
Aegean will open a weekly seasonal service to Kalamata from 31 May 2016, which will operate until October. Meanwhile a new all-year round, twice-weekly service to Bucharest will be introduced by Blue Air on 4 June.
easyJet has year-round services planned from Lyon to: Copenhagen (starting 16 April, thrice-weekly), Budapest (starting 27 April, also thrice weekly), Naples (starting 30 March, twice weekly) and Faro (starting 17 April, thrice weekly).
Twice-weekly seasonal easyJet flights to Catania will begin on 16 April and run until October. Then on 1 July, easyJet will open three new routes, two seasonal operating twice a week during July and August to Mykonos and Minorca plus a year-round twice-weekly service to Pisa.
HOP! will begin flights six times a week to Luxembourg on 21 February.
Fellow Air France-KLM Group carrier transavia.com has four new routes planned so far for 2016. The first is a seasonal service to Faro, beginning on 11 April and running twice-weekly until the end of October. Beginning on 12 May are two services – a six-times weekly, year-round operation to Lisbon and a seasonal service to Valencia which will operate twice-weekly until the end of October. The fourth new transavia.com route is a year-round service to Agadir commencing on 14 May with flights twice a week.
Meanwhile, Twinjet will open a new service to Turin on 8 March which will operate three times a week all year round.
