Lufthansa Technik and Wizz Air have reported an extension to the scope of their co-operation agreement to cover Romania and the Czech Republic.
Under a new five-year-contract, Lufthansa Technik Maintenance International (LTMI) provides Wizz Air with line maintenance services up to and including A-checks for eight Airbus A320s based in Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj. A further two A320s based in Prague are to be included in the agreement by February 2011.
In line with the new agreement, LTMI will appoint a fleet manager as the focal contact for Wizz Air in all kinds of technical, commercial and regulatory matters. This continuous exchange will ensure an ideal integration of LTMI’s services into Wizz Air’s operations.
"We are pleased to expand our long standing co-operation with Lufthansa Technik to more and more countries," remarked József Váradi, chief executive officer of Wizz Air. "The support through a dedicated fleet manager of LTMI ensures us shortest response times in case of any problems and hence minimises the risk of a technical delay."
