Horizon Air has announced its traffic data for September 2012.
The airline reported a 4.3% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) with a total of 168 million, compared with 161 million in September 2011. Available seat miles (ASMs) totalled 219 million, an increase of 7.9% over September 2011’s figure of 203 million.
This resulted in a 2.6 percentage point decrease in load factor to 76.7% from 79.3%. Revenue passengers carried, in rounded numbers, totalled 547,000 in September 2012 compared with 528,000 in September 2011, a 3.6% increase.
The airline says its year-to-date decline in capacity and traffic from 2011 is due primarily to the completion of its transition out of the CRJ700, which was completed in June 2011.
