Lion Air, has announced plans to equip its largest ever A320 order – for 234 jets – with the Thales TopFlight Management System.
The TopFlight suite on the new A320 fleet will include the ACSS T3CAS surveillance platform following Airbus’s decision to make this a standard surveillance avionics suite for its A320 family.
“Our position as partner of choice for avionics equipment in Asia has been considerably strengthened this year. After the success with China Eastern, the renewed confidence placed in us by Lion Air in this very ambitious fleet renewal, demonstrates how Thales is fast becoming a leading player in this region” said Daniel Malka, VP of Thales vice-president and general manager of avionics services worldwide.
Lion Air already uses Thales’ solutions on its entire ATR fleet. Thales claims its high-reliability navigation management systems provide a simplified working environment for pilots in the heavily congested south Asian airspace.
