Liebherr-Aerospace has signed a long-term service agreement with Japanese operator Fuji Dream Airlines. The OEM will overhaul and support the landing gear systems of the ten Embraer E-Jet E170 aircraft operated by the airline.

The independent regional carrier Fuji Dream Airlines has its main bases at Shizuoka and Nagoya and started operating in July 2009. Currently, the airline operates daily flight to 17 destinations within Japan.

The new contract highlights the progress of the OEM in extending its aerospace support services into Asia-Pacific. “In order to define the most appropriate landing gear overhaul programme, optimised to the unique requirements of Fuji Dream Airlines, a customised solution was successfully agreed following close collaboration between the teams. We are very grateful, honoured and looking forward to further strengthening our partnership with Fuji Dream Airlines”, stated Ekkehard Pracht, general manager aerospace of Leibherr-Singapore.

Takehiko Handa, general manager maintenance of Fuji Dream, said: “We at Fuji Dream Airlines have been operating Liebherr’s E170 landing gears for a long time and are fully satisfied with the excellent quality of their products as well as their overhaul services.”

The complete landing gear system for the E-Jet family was developed and manufactuered by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH (Germany).
