Norwegian and Lufthansa Technik (LHT) have extended their current wheels and brakes services contract for the airline's Boeing 737 fleet to run a further seven years and to cover pooling and home-base lease services for the airline’s Boeing 737-800 fleet which currently comprises 69 aircraft.
To guarantee an optimised supply chain to Norwegian, Lufthansa Technik has developed an extended logistics concept, which now ensures a "door-to-door" connection between the Lufthansa Technik site in Frankfurt and Norwegian's main bases in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
"In the past we have made good experience with Lufthansa Technik's support in different technical services and they facilitate Norwegian's sustained growth. That is the reason why we have decided to continue and even expand the contract for wheels and brakes services with Lufthansa Technik", explained Asgeir Nyseth, chief operating officer of Norwegian Air Shuttle.
