Spairliners and Kenya Airways have extended an existing Integrated Component Care contract covering full component support for 15 E-Jet aircraft.

The long-term lengthening of the contract, which became effective in April, means the services have been enhanced with an on-site customer representative based in Nairobi and Line Maintenance Training for the airline’s aircraft mechanics.

“With this contract extension our co-operation with Spairliners will be further strengthened,” said Ron Lussier, head of material management at Kenya Airways. “The innovative approach of Spairliners enables Kenya Airways to optimise its cost position and further increase its aircraft availability. Spairliners proved to be a reliable and high-quality provider and we are pleased with the contract prolongation.”

The airline’s E-Jet fleet will be supplied from Spairliner’s component pool and logistic centres based in Paris and Munich, and an optimised on-site stock will be provided at Kenya Airways’ premises for proprietary use.

“With this continued co-operation Kenya Airways can rely not only on Spairliners expertise, but also on the support and in-depth knowledge of our parent companies’ network of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance and Lufthansa Technik,” said Benoit Crombois, managing director and CFO at Spairliners.
