American Eagle Airlines has reported traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary Executive Airlines covering June 2011 and the first half of the calendar year (1H11).
In June, American Eagle flew 828,067,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs), 19.8% more than the 691,142,000 flown in June 2010. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 18.5% to 1,039,937,000 from 877,523,000 in June last year.
The June load factor thus saw a slight increase of 0.9 percentage points to 79.6% from 78.8% in June 2010. The airline carried 1,570,252 passengers in June, 13.4% more than the 1,384,722 carried in June 2010.
In the first half of 2011 (1H11), RPMs totalled 4,325,921,000, which was 17.8% up on 1H10’s figure of 3,672,519,000. ASMs were increased by 17.1% to 5,913,969,000 compared with 5,048,867,000 in 1H10.
The 1H11 load factor for Eagle was 73.1%, which was 0.4 pp up on the 72.7% achieved in 1H10. The airline carried 8,274,635 passengers in the first six months of this year, 6.2% more than the 7,793,536 carried in the same period last year.
At Executive Airlines, June’s RPMs totalled 45,325,000, just 0.2% bellow last June’s figure of 45,394,000. ASMs, however, were cut by 3.5% to 76,044,000 from 78,807,000, so the load factor rose by 2.0 pp to 59.6% from the 57.6% achieved in June 2010. The airline carried 233,247 passengers in June, a decrease of 5.7% from the 247,378 carried in the same month last year.
Executive’s generated 262,677,000 RPMs in 1H11, an increase of 3.1% compared with 1H10’s figure of 254,823,000. ASMs increased by 1.0% to 473,424,000 from 468,643,000 for the respective periods.
The load factor for 1H11 was 55.5%, which was 1.1 pp up on 1H10’s load factor of 54.4%. The total number of passengers carried was 1,361,300, slightly down – by 0.3% – from the 1,364,875 carried in 1H10.
