June 2011 and half-year traffic figures reported by Frontier

Frontier Airlines has announced preliminary traffic results for both June 2011 and the first half of the calendar year.

Frontier’s traffic decreased 1%, to 1,198,087,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from 1,208,878,000 in June 2010, while capacity was also down 1%, at 1,330,454,000 available seat miles (ASMs) from 1,337,624,000 for the same period. The load factor therefore stayed the same in June 2011 as in June 2010 at 90%. The number of passengers carried fell by 1% to 1,399,208 from June 2010’s figure of 1,416,509.

In the first half of 2011 (1H11), Frontier’s RPMs totalled 6,265,035,000, compared with 6,138,123,000 in 1H10, a 2% increase. ASMs decreased by 1% to 7,523,927,000 from 7,584,401,000.

These results created a 2 pp increase in load factor to 83% in 1H11 from 81% in the same period last year. Passengers carried in the half-year numbered 7,158,975, a 1% increase on the 7,101,824 carried in 1H10.
