Jetstar trio become part of oneworld’s Global Explorer

The networks of Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar Pacific are being added to Global Explorer, the round-the-world fare offered by oneworld member airlines and selected partners outside the global alliance.Addition these three carriers’ routes – those of Jetstar’s Australian airline are already part of the product – will bring more than 15 new destinations, two key Asian hubs (Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore) and many more routes into Global Explorer.Global Explorer now features some 230 destinations across Asia – and around 1,150 worldwide, in more than 150 countries. It already covers all routes offered by oneworld’s member airlines – airberlin, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN Airlines, TAM Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Russia’s S7 and SriLankan Airlines, plus some 30 affiliated carriers, including Austria’s Niki, South Africa’s Comair, Denmark’s SUN-AIR, LAN Argentina, LAN Colombia, LAN Ecuador, LAN Peru and QantasLink.In addition, it also features flights by a number of airlines that are not part of the global alliance, including Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines and subsidiary Horizon Air, Bangkok Airways, Fiji Airways, Meridiana and WestJet. Flights carrying the Qantas code but operated by Air Tahiti Nui and Jetstar were also already included.Jetstar Group executive manager for network and partnerships Alan McIntyre commented, “This partnership with oneworld's Global Explorer further symbolises our commitment to all customers, providing yet another platform for them to tap into Jetstar’s wide network of destinations.“Through this collaboration, we are effectively introducing to passengers across the globe the wonders of southeast Asia and north Asia destinations offered by the network of Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Japan and Jetstar Pacific,” McIntyre added.
