From March 2016, Jetstar will offer flights from Avalon Airport to Hobart and Adelaide, bringing the number of Australian cities the carrier serves from the former destination to four. The Avalon–Adelaide service will operate three-times weekly from 27 March 2016, departing at 09:05 and landing at 9:55 before the return leg takes off at 10:25 and arrives back in Avalon at 12:10.
The Avalon–Hobart route will be flown four times weekly from 28 March 2016, leaving the former at 09:05 to reach the latter at 10:20, before taking off from Hobart at 10:50 and getting back to Avalon for 12:10.“In less than a year we will have expanded from a single route to Sydney to offer local travellers direct flights to four major Australian cities,” remarked Jetstar Australia and New Zealand CEO, David Hall. “We were overwhelmed by the community support for our Gold Coast services earlier this year, and we’re looking forward to a similarly positive customer response to these new flights to Hobart and Adelaide.”The launch of these new routes fulfils Jetstar’s commitment to offer more destinations and flights from Avalon as part of its 10-year agreement with the Victorian Government and airport owners Linfox Group. With the introduction of the new services, the airline will offer more than 900,000 seats a year in and out of Avalon.
