JetBlue reports March traffic figures

JetBlue Airways has reported preliminary traffic results for March 2012, including a 2.7 percentage point load factor increase.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 2,954,270,000, compared with 2,626,257,000 in March 2011, a 12.5% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) rose by just 9.0% though, to 3,424,521,000 from 3,142,800,000, thus creating the load factor increase to 86.3% from 83.6% for March 2012 and March 2011 respectively.

Revenue passengers carried in March 2012 totalled 2,565,590, compared with 2,306,228 in March 2011, an 11.2% increase. JetBlue’s preliminary completion factor was 99.6% and its on-time performance was 80.0%. The airline’s preliminary passenger revenue per ASM for March increased by 8% year-over-year.
