JetBlue reports June and half-year traffic

JetBlue Airways has reported its preliminary traffic results for June 2010 and for the first half of the year.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in June totalled 2,470,202,000, 10.9% up on the 2,227,715,000 recorded in June 2009. Available seat miles (ASMs) were up 5.8% to 2,933,436,000 from 2,772,738,000 year-on-year.

June’s load factor was 84.2%, up 3.9 percentage points compared with 80.3% last June. Revenue passengers carried numbered 2,092,882, up 9.7% compared with the 1,907,393 carried in June 2009.

In the first half of the year (1H10), RPMs rose 8.0% to 13,596,296,000 from 12,585,456,000 in 1H09. ASMs were increased by 5.8% to 17,111,848,000 from 16,178,938,000 for the respective periods.

The 1H10 load factor was 79.5%, an increase of 1.7 pp from 1H09’s 77.8%. Revenue passengers carried in the half-year totalled 11,641,741, compared with 10,981,852 in 1H09, a 6.0% increase.
