JetBlue Airways has reported its preliminary traffic results for August 2010 highlighting its network planning by maintaining a steady load factor.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) went up by 7.0% to 2,742,319,000 from 2,561,843,000, almost matching the airline’s capacity increase of 7.3% as available seat miles (ASMs) rose to 3,174,149,000 from 2,959,351,000.
The load factor for August 2010 was 86.4%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from August 2009. Revenue passengers carried totalled 2,344,407, an increase of 6.6% over august 2009’s figure of 2,198,546.
JetBlue’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (RASM) for August increased 12% year-over-year, in line with company expectations.
