JetBlue announces December and full 2013 traffic stats

JetBlue Airways has reported its preliminary traffic results for December 2013 and those for the whole of 2013.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in December totalled 3,233,109,000 compared with 2,867,642,000 in December 2012, a 12.7% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 9.0% to 3,900,924,000 from 3,578,250,000 for the respective periods.

The load factor thus rose by 2.8 percentage points to 82.9% from 80.1%. Revenue passengers carried numbered 2,705,721 in December 2013, which was 9.0% more than the 2,482,954 carried in December 2012.

During the whole of 2013, JetBlue generated 35,836,030,000 RPMs compared with 33,563,177,000 in 2012, a 6.8% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) were increased by 6.9% in 2013 to 42,824,075,000 from 40,075,196,000 in 2012.

These figures meant a 0.1 pp decrease in the load factor to 83.7% from 83.8% in 2012. Revenue passengers for 2013 totalled 30,463,226 compared with 28,956,213 in 2012, an increase of 5.2%.
