JetBlue’s preliminary traffic results for August 2016 show a load factor of 87.4%, an increase of 0.4 points from August 2015.
The airline’s revenue passenger miles (RPMs) have grown by 6.2% to 4,211,755,000 from 3,966,602,000 year-over-year in comparison to a 5.7% in available seat miles (ASMs) to 4,558,901,000 from 4,820,083,000.
JetBlue has logged a 6.8% rise in passengers carried across the same respective periods to 3,505,253 from 3,283,266.
JetBlue’s preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) for the month of August decreased by approximately 5.5% percent year-over-year. For the third quarter of 2016, RASM is expected to decrease 3-4% percent year-over-year.
For the year-to-date, JetBlue has seen a 9.6% increase in passengers to 25,812,859 in 2016 from 23,555,460 in 2015.
Across the same respective periods, RPMs increased by 10.5% to 31,001,452,000 from 28,058,840,000 against a 10.6% rise in ASMs to 36,296,137,000 from 32,810,570,000. This resulted in a load factor decrease of 0.1 percentage points to 85.4%.
