JetBlue Airways’ traffic results for May 2015 mark a steady increase in load factor to 85.7%, up 0.5 percentage points from 85.2% for the same month last year.
Available seat miles (ASMs) were increased 7.8% across the respective periods from 3,755,844,000 to 4,048,048,000, with revenue passenger miles (RPMs) growing from 3,199,276,000 in May 2014 to 3,468,055,000, an increase of 8.4%.
The number of passengers carried also rose – by 8.1% – from 2,736,782 to 2,957,534.
The airline’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for May increased approximately one percent year over year. For the second quarter of 2015, PRASM is expected to increase between half and one and a half percent year over year.
