orders 27 Boeing 737-800NGs direct from OEM, a subsidiary of Dart Group PLC, has finalised an order with Boeing for 27 Next Generation 737-800 aircraft valued at approximately US$2.6 billion at current list prices.
The leisure carrier currently operates an all-Boeing fleet of nearly 60 aircraft, but this is its first order directly from the OEM. The 27 new 737-800s will be used to take the company's package holiday and flight only customers to destinations in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and a combination of European leisure cities.Philip Meeson, executive chairman of, stated, “Today's order for 27 additional 737-800NGs will be delivered over the next two years and will provide with the necessary cost effective, reliable and comfortable environment to allow us to build upon our already highly successful family friendly business. We are extremely pleased to have finalised this order for more of what has already proven to be a popular, aircraft within our fleet.”“The 737-800 is the best-selling version of the highly successful Next-Generation 737 family and has accumulated more than 6,900 orders worldwide. We are very proud that has again selected Boeing to meet its continuing fleet requirements,” noted Todd Nelp, Boeing’s vice president of European flies to 55 destinations across 364 holiday resorts from 7 Northern departure bases.
