Jazz firms up order for 15 Q400s

Following up a Letter of Intent signed in February 2010, Jazz Air has signed a firm purchase agreement for 15 Bombardier Q400 NextGen turboprops and has taken options on a further 15 of the type.

Based on the list price, the firm order is valued at approximately $454 million which would increase to $937 million if all 15 options were taken.

"The introduction of the Q400 NextGen aircraft is a perfect complement to our fleet of Bombardier turboprops and regional jets," commented Joe Randell, president and CEO, Jazz Air. "This aircraft, which in Jazz configuration will have 74 seats in a single-class cabin, offers superior passenger comfort, fuel efficiency and improved environmental performance. I’m confident that our passengers will appreciate the quiet interior and speed of this new technology."

Jazz Air is the world’s largest operator of Dash 8/Q-Series aircraft 64 which it flies alongside 64 Bombardier CRJs.
