January traffic figures announced for American Eagle and Executive Airlines

American Eagle has reported January traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Executive Airlines.

Eagle’s revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 716,008,000, compared with 639,242,000 last January, a 12.0% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) rose by 7.8% to 1,051,901,000 from 975,464,000 for the respective months.

The load factor for January 2012 was 68.1%, an increase of 2.6 percentage points over last January’s 65.5%. The number of passengers carried during the month was 1,321,876, up 7.8% from 1,226,273 last January.

Executive Airlines generated 35,929,000 RPMs in January 2012, compared with 42,783,000 last January, a decrease of 16.0%. ASMs were cut by 20.2%% to 66,900,000 from 83,819,000 a year ago.

The load factor in January was 53.7%, an increase of 2.7 pp over January 2011’s figure of 51.0%. During the month, the airline carried 193,058 passengers, down 12.7% from last January’s 221,022.
