Horizon Air reports July 2001 traffic

Horizon Air has announced traffic figures for July 2011 with falls in all parameters attributed primarily to the completion of Horizon’s transition out of the CRJ700 fleet to operating only Q400s, which reduced Horizon’s operating fleet from 55 aircraft at 31 July 2010 to 49 at 31 July 2011.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in July dropped to 186 million from July 2010’s figure of 241 million, a fall of 23.0%. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 22.4% to 230 million from 296 million for the respective months.

Passenger load factor therefore only fell slightly – by 0.7% – to 80.9% from 81.6%. Revenue passengers carried totalled 586,000, a decrease of 9.1% from the 645,000 carried last July.
