Helvetic Airways is expanding its existing fleet of four Fokker 100 by an additional two aircraft of the same type.
The 50% expansion in capacity will come in May and June 2010, with one aircraft planned to arrive in each month, principally for deployment in charter and scheduled flights.
In the months to come, the staff complement will be raised by 30 full-time jobs to 150 employees. Recruiting and training of flight crew is already under way. "On the one hand, Helvetic Airways will recruit experienced pilots, and on the other we benefit from working closely together with Horizon Swiss Flight Academy," explained CFO Tobias Pogorevc.
The extra aircraft mean an additional two Fokker 100s in the FLYFokker programme have found a new home.
