Hamilton Sundstrand and AVIC Electromechanical Systems (AVIC EM) are to create a joint venture company to develop and manufacture the electric power system for the Commercial Aviation Corporation of China’s (COMAC) new C919.
The agreement between AVIC EM and Hamilton Sundstrand is intended to result in formation of a new entity to develop and manufacture the system, including generation and distribution, and will serve as a tier one supplier to COMAC on the aircraft programme.
"We are very pleased to establish this new electric systems joint venture," commented Hamilton Sundstrand president Alain Bellemare. "This venture will further strengthen our relationship with AVIC EM as a critical partner, as we work with COMAC to bring the C919 to the market."
