Great Lakes announces traffic stats for January 2015

Great Lakes Aviation has reported its preliminary passenger traffic results for the month of January 2015.Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) dropped to 2,383,000 from 6,070,000 in January, a 60.7% decrease. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 55.2% to 6,567,000 from 14,663,000 for the respective periods.The load factor fell by 5.1 percentage points to 36.3% from 41.4%, while the number of passengers carried during January fell by 60.3% to 8,583 from the 21,620 carried last January.The large drops in RPMs, ASMs and passengers carried were due to the stripping out of seats from the airline’s Beech 1900Ds to enable crew with fewer than 1,500 flight hours to operate the aircraft.
