GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes has announced the highest demand for March in the domestic market and in the total system since going operational in 2001.
The company registered 36.8% growth in demand in its route network compared with March 2009, revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) rising to 2,437.6 million from 1,782.2 million. Capacity in available seat kilometres (ASKs) went up by 16.1% to 3,767.7 million from 3,246.2 million in March 2009. The result was an increase in the load factor 9.8 percentage points to 64.7% compared with last March’s figure of 54.9%.
The airline says this growth was driven by the combined effect of a better economic scenario in Brazil and Latin America and the increase in its competitive advantages in the markets it operates.
