GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes has announced its April 2010 traffic figures.
In April 2010, demand on GOL’s total network, measure in revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs), increased by 26.5%. The airline generated 2,291.5 million RPKs during the month compared with 1,811.6 million in April 2009.
Capacity, in available seat kilometres (ASKs) went up year-on-year by 17.4% to 3,627.1 million from 3,088.6 million. With the demand increase ahead of the capacity increase, the load factor consequently rose by 4.5 percentage points to 63.2% from April 2009’s figure of 58.7%.
Yields maintained their upward trajectory, says GOL, averaging slightly above 20 cents (R$), despite the seasonally weaker period. As a result, current yield levels are in line with the company’s financial expectations.
