GoAir has taken delivery of the first of 72 Airbus A320neos it has on order with the OEM, becoming the world’s third operator of the type after Lufthansa and IndiGo.
GoAir’s A320neos will have PW1000G-JM engines and they will join the airline’s existing fleet of 19 A320ceo aircraft. The newly-delivered A320neo is the first of the type to be equipped with Airbus’s Spaceflex cabin configuration with 186 seats. It is also the first of the type to be financed on a sale and leaseback transaction through SMBC Aviation Capital.
GoAir currently flies to 22 Indian destinations. With the NEO induction, GoAir will expand its network and offer fliers better connectivity and continue its growth as one of India’s preferred low-cost airlines.
