Germanwings will build its Düsseldorf base in the 2014 summer season with nine new routes scheduled to begin in June, as part of the carrier’s takeover of certain routes from Lufthansa as well as brand new routes to destinations such as Ancona.
There will be 44 weekly flights between Düsseldorf and Hamburg, which Germanwings takes over on 1 June. Gothenburg and Lyon are partially served several times a day from Düsseldorf. Other new Germanwings connections from Düsseldorf will include Antalya, St Petersburg , Bucharest (Otopeni), Poznan and Wroclaw . The flights to Poznan will start on 30 March 2014.
