GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has added new aircraft to its fleet following a purchase and leaseback deal for two new Bombardier Q400 NextGen turboprops with Nok Air.
Nok Air took delivery of its first Q400 NextGen in August, with the next delivery scheduled for September. The airline currently leases 3 Boeing 737-800s from GECAS.
“Airline customers like Nok Air are looking for financing to acquire modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to fit into their fleet plans,” remarked GECAS senior VP and region manager for Asia, Antony Snelleman. “Adding the Bombardier Q400 NextGen through a purchase-and-leaseback deal is a win–win for both GECAS and Nok Air and we look forward to doing more transactions like this.”
