Wizz Air has announced that it is to open its fourth Romanian operating base in Tirgu Mures.
Wizz Air will initially deploy one Airbus A320 and will add seven new routes to the already existing Budapest and London services. The new services start on 18 June with thrice-weekly flights from Tirgu Mures to each of Barcelona, Dortmund and Milan Bergamo.
The following day, twice weekly flights begin to Paris Beauvais and Madrid. A day later on 20 June, services will begin to Bologna Forli and Rome Fiumicino, again with a twice weekly frequency.
Also from Tirgu Mures, Wizz Air will increase its frequency to London Luton from three to four flights per week.
“Five years after Wizz Air launched the first flight from Romania, we are opening our fourth operational base in the country. This is another milestone in our Romanian operations, that indicates our commitment to the Romanian passengers in offering truly affordable fares and a fast growing network. This development will further strengthen our market leadership positions in Romania,” declared József Váradi, chief executive officer of Wizz Air.
