Allegiant Air has unveiled plans for nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale from four cities – Portsmouth, NH; Akron-Canton, OH; Rochester, NY; Grand Rapids, MI – with the services beginning on 1 October, 2 October, 9 October and 16 December respectively.
“Allegiant is very excited to announce these new flights to Fort Lauderdale, making the vacation destination even more accessible for these four communities,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Travel Company senior vice-president of planning. “We are confident that the addition of our low-cost, convenient service to such a popular South Florida destination will bring even more visitors and economic growth to the area.”
The Grand Rapids service will be seasonal and will run until April 2016.
The new routes will expand on the service Allegiant currently operates to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Focusing on leisure travellers, the new flights will bring over 58,000 additional visitors each year to the area.
