Regional Express (Rex) has announced the appointment of Ronald Bartsch as an independent director to the Rex Board.
Bartsch has more than 30 years experience in the aviation industry in a variety of senior operational, safety and regulatory roles. He was head of safety and regulatory compliance for Qantas and manager of the CASA Sydney Airline Transport Field Office.
Bartsch is also an experienced pilot and has extensive legal and regulatory experience. He has formal qualifications in law, education, science and is the author of a renowned textbook on aviation law. Additionally he acts as an aviation safety consultant and is a senior visiting fellow with the Department of Aviation at the University of NSW.
Rex executive chairman Lim Kim Hai welcomed Bartsch to the board stating, “We welcome Ron’s appointment to the board where he will be able to apply his expertise in aviation safety and compliance throughout the Group and in particular with our Safety and Risk Management Committee as part of our ongoing commitment to safety.”
