Jean-Michel Leonard, who led ATR from 2001-04 is has become the president and CEO of EADS Sogerma, the part of EADS which specialises in aerostructures, cockpit seats & cabin interiors.
In June 2001, he merged the various components of the ATR programme into a single organisation and became the first CEO of this ATR “Integrated”. At the end of his mandate, he was appointed chairman of the ATR board of directors while moving to Airbus to create the Centre of Excellence Electrics.
In June 2007, he was nominated chairman and CEO of EADS Socata and led the merging of operations with Daher Aerospace. When Socata SAS became a subsidiary of Daher group in January 2009, he was appointed CEO of the company and deputy CEO of Daher Aerospace Division. He was re-appointed chairman of the ATR board of directors when he moved back to EADS in September 2010.
Leonard is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures (Paris, 1976) and M.I.T. (Cambridge USA 1978, Master of Science). He also holds a CESA Finance degree from HEC (1998).
