flydubai has announced that it is to begin flights to the Syrian city, Latakia, in June.
Latakia will be flydubai’s third Syrian destination, after Damascus and Aleppo, and is the fifth new route to be announced by the airline during April.
The four-times weekly service will begin on Sunday 20 June and will take the airline’s network to 18 destinations.
“Adding Latakia to our existing routes of Damascus and Aleppo, demonstrates the importance of Syria as a key destination to flydubai,” explained Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s CEO. “Thanks to flydubai, Dubai’s growing Syrian expatriate population and the 500,000-strong community in Latakia now have even better access to quality, safe and low-cost air travel.”
Flights to Latakia will depart from Dubai at 11:30 and land at 14:00 local time. The return services will leave Latakia at 15:10 local time and reach Dubai at 19:30.
