flydubai has inaugurated services to Bucharest, its latest destination in central and eastern Europe.
Ovidiu Silaghi, the Romanian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure joined H.E. Yacub Yousif Al Hosani, the UAE Ambassador to Romania and flydubai’s chief executive officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, to commemorate the aircraft’s arrival.
“Since the launch of our first flight to central and eastern Europe with our service to Baku in Azerbaijan, in November 2009, flydubai has expanded rapidly to become the leading airline servicing the region,” declared Al Ghaith. “With the addition of Bucharest, we now fly to 13 destinations across eight countries in the region and I would like to personally thank everyone who has been involved in helping us introduce our flights to Bucharest. We hope that this new service will play a significant role in developing business opportunities and provide travellers with a quality and affordable link to one of Europe’s most dynamic cities.”
flydubai now serves Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine in addition to Romania, with a total of 78 weekly flights across the region.
Flights to Bucharest are initially operating three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. From 28 October, flydubai will increase the frequency of flights to four times a week with the addition of a Thursday service.
