flydubai has begun services into Bangladesh with the inaugural flight from Dubai to Chittagong.
The flight, to flydubai’s 30th destination, arrived at Chittagong’s Shah Amanat International Airport and was greeted by a VIP delegation, who were present to welcome flydubai’s chief operating officer, Hamad Obaidalla, who travelled on the flight.
“Reaching 30 destinations in such a short space of time is a tremendous achievement for flydubai and I am very proud to be here to celebrate this moment,” Obaidalla remarked. “2011 is going to be a year in which we experience many more occasions to celebrate as we continue our growth, providing passengers with the opportunity to travel more often and to a wider range of places.
“The Chittagong service will give passengers even greater travel flexibility when it becomes a daily service in March,” he added. Currently flydubai offers flights four times a week from Dubai to Chittagong, with the service operating on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The daily service begins on 27 March.
