flydubai has announced thrice-weekly flights to the Indian city of Lucknow, scheduled to begin on 2 June.
The announcement is the seventh new route launch in the past month, bringing flydubai’s network to 20 destinations.
“India represents an important market for flydubai and we are delighted that the co-operation between flydubai and the Indian authorities has resulted in the opportunity for Dubai’s first low cost airline to bring our simple, uncomplicated, quality low fare service to Lucknow,” remarked Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai. “We hope to continue to work closely with the Indian authorities to the benefit of both our countries and in time expand our operations to serve more Indian cities which are currently underserved by direct links to the UAE.
“An estimated five million Indian expatriates live and work in Gulf, with around one million in the UAE alone. This represents a huge number of people who need to travel between our two nations and we look forward to complementing the services offered by the existing carriers on the Dubai-India routes.”
The outbound service, FZ433, will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing Dubai at 20:30 and arriving in Lucknow at 01:50 the following day. The return flight, FZ434, which operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departs Lucknow at 02:35 to land in Dubai at 05:20 (all times local).
