Swiss AviationSoftware (Swiss-AS) has announced that its AMOS software product has been chosen by flydubai to manage the carrier’s maintenance and engineering activities.
“We are very pleased about the future partnership with flydubai and look forward to a long-lasting and close collaboration, as well as a smooth implementation within the coming months. In view of flydubai’s extensive expansion plans, we are more than convinced that AMOS is the right solution to actively support that challenging strategy,” stated Ronald Schaeuffele, CEO of Swiss-AS. “The new contract means a clear acknowledgment that Swiss-AS is on the right track regarding the continuous investment in R&D and the wide scope of fully integrated modules and functionalities offered to our customers.”
The project kicked-off at the beginning of September 2010 and the implementation is planned to take four to five months. An implementation within this timeframe is challenging, sat Swiss-AS, but achievable since numerous employees are already familiar with AMOS and transferring the data should be an easy task. As flydubai has been operating for just over a year and all aircraft are delivered to them directly from the manufacturer, the amount of legacy data to be migrated from their previous system to AMOS should be manageable.
Currently the low-fare carrier is insourcing its MRO activities. Once this process has been completed, the airline will make extensive usage of the AMOS modules, enabling the carrier to efficiently manage the complex maintenance, engineering and logistics requirements.
