Flybe’s new route between Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) and Belfast City has been celebrated at LJLA, with the airport’s management team welcoming on board with a bottle of champagne and complimentary Flybe flights, the first passenger to check in for the inaugural flight. Passengers flying on the new route now have the choice of up to three flights a day during the week and one return flight on both Saturday and Sunday. From 29 March, which marks the beginning of Flybe’s summer schedule, there will be a fourth return flight each weekday and an extra rotation on Saturdays.
“This new service has multi audience appeal,” explained Flybe CCO, Paul Simmons. “Business customers will benefit from our speedy city-to-city connection, football fans from NI can now enjoy easy travel to their favourite Liverpool stadium and the thousands of cross-water students engaged in further education in will also benefit from competitive fares and Flybe’s generous student baggage allowance.”
Managers at LJLA believe the new route could generate an additional 50,000 departing passengers per year through the airport.
