Flybe is to add an extra four flights a week between Aberdeen and Birmingham following bmi Regional’s announcement that it will suspend services on the route from 30 October.
The flights have been added to Flybe’s existing schedule on Mondays and Fridays, departing Birmingham 11:50, arriving Aberdeen 13:20, and departing Aberdeen 13:45, arriving Birmingham 15:20. This will bring the total number of flights that Flybe operates on the route to 36 a week, including three return flights every weekday.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s chief commercial officer, noted, “Since taking over this important route following our acquisition of BA Connect in 2007, the number of passengers choosing to fly with us has increased by 33%. Also, we’ve had a particularly good summer with passenger numbers up 6% over the May-August period last year.”
