First flight test MRJ gets its engines

Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1200G engines have been mounted on the first Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) destined for the flight test programme.

The aircraft is being assembled at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ (MHI) factory (Komaki South Plant, MHI's Nagoya Aerospace Systems Works located in Aichi Prefecture). Thmountingof the engines marks a significant milestone in the MRJ’s development.

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation has been engaged in mounting the Pratt & Whitney PurePower engines since mid-June. The installation of other equipment, the wiring work and the piping work are being carried out, fast tracking the final assembly process for the first flight which is scheduled for next year.
