Aircraft humidity control systems specialist CTT Systems has won an order to retrofit two newly-delivered Airbus A321neos for Novair.
The company’s zonal drying anti-condensation system is already fitted on another Novair A321ceo. Peter Landquist, vice-president sales and marketing at CTT, said the order was its first for an A321neo, and that Novair had proven the benefits from mastering the root cause of condensation when operating its previous A321ceo aircraft using the drying system.
The systems will be retrofitted in the aircraft to prevent weight gain from accumulated water/ice accretion (potentially up to 200-300kg of water in A320s and Boeing 737-800s, according to CTT), and to reduce other moisture problems.
Thomas Krook, Novair’s director technical operations, said investing in the zonal drying system “is in line with our constant work to minimise the climate effect of our operation by reducing the fuel and CO2 burn”.
