Kazakh carrier Air Astana has taken delivery of its first A321neo at the Airbus facility in Hamburg, Germany with the aircraft to be operated on the carrier’s domestic and regional routes.
The jet is on an operating lease from Aercap under a deal including two further A321neos and one A320neo, which are scheduled for delivery in 2018.
Air Astana’s new aircraft is configured with 28 business class and 151 economy class seats, all equipped with personal in-flight entertainment systems. It also features larger overhead bin capacity and a mood-lighting system enabled by LED technology.
The A321neo is powered by the latest generation Pratt & Whitney engines.
The airline currently operates 13 A320 aircraft and one A320neo, which was delivered in 2016, and plans to increase its fleet of A320neo family aircraft to 17 by 2020.
