Firefly has partnered with eatery Circle K, located in Subang Skypark Airport, to allow passengers to pre-book hot meals online and pick them up before they fly.
Ignatius Ong, Firefly’s CEO, noted how a large majority of the airline’s passengers travel on business and would normally spend their hour long flight with a short nap or catching up with work. “What sets this service apart from other carriers is that customers can choose to eat their meals before boarding their flight or have it onboard itself. This service is aimed at supporting the airline’s new tagline, Beyond Convenience.”
The ‘Firefly Express Meal’ gives passengers five options: Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Mamak Style and a meat-free option, Macaroni & Cheese. Ong described the menu as “featuring local and western staples, offering the opportunity for travellers from different places to enjoy a taste of Malaysia in the air”.
The airline aims to begin offering the ‘Firefly Express Meal’ on flights departing each of the airports on its network in the near future.
