From 16 September 2014, Firefly will be offering a three times weekly service between Penang and Krabi in Thailand.
The outbound flight will depart Penang at 08:35 and arrive in Krabi at 08:45. The return flight leaves Krabi at 09:35 and lands back in Penang at 11:45 (all times local). Tickets for travel on the route are now on sale.
Firefly’s chief executive officer Ignatius Ong commented, “Firefly is excited to expand its network by introducing Krabi as its latest destination. A new destination is certainly an encouraging indication of an airline’s growth, and that seems to be the exact path Firefly is at. The celebration of Firefly’s other new route – between Johor Bahru and Ipoh – further reiterates the achievement of Firefly’s expansion plan.
“The airline is targeting domestic traffic for the new Johor Bahru and Ipoh route. We are mounting these new flights to meet the needs of our loyal business and leisure customers from Ipoh who have requested for direct flights with conventional timings to the southern state of Johor. The rapid developments at Iskandar Malaysia have made Johor an increasingly popular destination to both the leisure and business traveller. It also serves as an affordable gateway to Singapore. We anticipate Malaysians using our new services to fly to Johor and travel onward by land to Singapore,” explained Ong.
