Finnair has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Doric Asset Finance for the sale and leaseback of six ATR 72 aircraft with the transaction – worth around €75 million – expected to be closed by the end of March 2015.
The aircraft included in the arrangement are currently operated by Flybe Finland. The aircraft lease agreements between Finnair and Doric expire, on average, after eight years. Once the transaction is closed, Finnair will sublease the aircraft to Flybe Finland.
The proceeds from the transaction will be used to finance Finnair fleet investments in the coming years.
