In a transaction which is expected to be closed during March 2015, Finnair has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with German Operating Aircraft Leasing (GOAL) for the sale and leaseback of three Embraer 190 aircraft.
The aircraft lease agreements between Finnair and GOAL will expire on average after eight years. The aircraft included in the arrangement are currently operated by Finnair’s associated company, Flybe Finland. After the transaction is closed, Finnair will sublease the aircraft to Flybe Finland.
The proceeds from the transaction will be used to finance Finnair fleet investments in the coming years, including an order for 19 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft.
