February traffic data announced for American Eagle and Executive Airlines

American Eagle Airlines has reported February 2012 traffic figures for itself and its subsidiary Executive Airlines.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for American Eagle totalled 699,323,000, compared with 567,258,000 in February 2011, a 23.3% increase. Available seat miles (ASMs) were increased by 19.9% to 990,905,000 from 826,483,000.

Eagle’s load factor was 70.6%, a rise of 2 percentage points over February 2011’s figure of 68.6%. During the month the airline carried 1,353,109 passengers, 24.1% more than the 1,090,143 carried last February.

At Executive Airlines, RPMs dropped by 47.1% in February, to 19,807,000 from 37,471,000. This was associated with a 53.5% cut in ASMs to 33,272,000 from 71,536,000.

The load factor thus rose by 7.1 pp to 59.5% from 52.4% for the respective months. Finally, Executive carried 105,697 passengers in February 2012, compared with 198.603 last February, a 46.8% decrease.
