Porter Airlines has announced its traffic statistics for February 2011 including a year-over-year improvement in load factor of 4.1 percentage points.
Figures for the month show a load factor of 50.6%, up from 46.5% last February. This result was based on 80.7 million available seat miles (ASMs) being offered, up 18.5% from February 2010’s 68.1 million and 40.8 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) flown, up 28.7% from 31.7 million over the same period last year.
“We continue to be ahead of last year’s pace by all measures,” declared Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “This is an encouraging sign given the extra year-over-year capacity we introduced and during what is typically a slower travel period.”
Porter recently announced that it is to serve the Ontario cities of Windsor and Sault Ste. Marie, beginning 27 April, and 4 May, respectively.
