Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) is to open its first overseas client liaison office in Beijing, China, by the end of 2016 to support Sukhoi Superjet 100 sales.
“China is a highly promising commercial aviation market and its potential grows year by year. Today Sukhoi Superjet can lay claims to becoming one of the most sought-after regional jets in China,” explained Ilya Tarasenko, president of SCAC.
Reporting to SCAC’s headquarters in Moscow, the Beijing office will be run by Lee Li with the objective of building relationships with local carriers and aircraft leasing companies. Li has held executive positions at companies including Embraer, General Electric Aircraft Engines and Sparkle Roll Aviation Group.
This marks the first step in implementing SCAC’s global marketing strategy. The company says it is aiming to open further client liaison offices across other key markets in the coming years.
